Parish Nursing Program

Dear Family and Friends,

The Partnership for Clear Health Communications has recently launched a new campaign called “Ask Me 3”. The focus of this campaign is to encourage you to understand the answers to 3 questions each time you talk with a doctor or other healthcare provider. The 3 questions are:
What is my main problem?
What do I need to do?
Why is it important to do this?

While these may seem pretty obvious questions many people leave their doctor’s office not fully understanding what they need to do to stay well or get better. At a doctor’s visit you may feel rushed or you may be feeling ill and not thinking clearly at the time of the visit. You may be confused or overwhelmed with a deluge of information. Feeling overwhelmed or confused especially may happen if you will be undergoing an unfamiliar test or procedure or just received information about a newly diagnosed illness. You do not need to feel embarrassed if you don’t understand something. If necessary, schedule a follow-up appointment and write your questions down ahead of time. It might also be beneficial to ask a friend or family member to accompany you to the visit.

The Ask Me 3 questions will help you take care of your health, prepare for medical tests and take your medicines the right way. Ask these 3 basic questions and be better prepared to take care or your health!

3 John 2 “ Dear friend. I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you.”

As always, if there are questions or other things that we could help you with, please contact us.

In the Healing Christ,
Judy & Mary
