Will Meachum, Director of Intentional Faith Development

Will is a graduate of the University of Illinois, with a background in Music Education.  He taught Junior High and High School music for 4 years at Johnsburg High School/Jr. High and Metamora Township High School.  He also spent a year as a financial advisor at Edward Jones before settling into a career path in the Methodist Denomination.   His first ever church job was in college as a part time choir director for Farmer City United Methodist Church.  From 2007-2012, he worked as the Worship Coordinator and Director of Music Ministries at Crossroads United Methodist Church, while also directing the AV teams, the discipleship team, IT operations, marketing, a video production team and other ministries as needed.

At Pontiac FUMC, Will is working as the Director of Intentional Faith Development.  His essential roles are to support and help direct any and all discipleship teams here at the church while working with the vision team in carrying out the mission of PFUMC.  In working with these leaders, he brings a passion for discipleship, for reaching out and serving the community, for the Methodist denomination as a whole and most importantly, the word and works of Jesus Christ.

Will’s wife, Joy Meachum, has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois.  She works for OSF healthcare doing social work home visits.  Together, Joy and Will have a son, Ben a daughter Hayden, and a Basset Hound named Betsy.
