MOPS

WHAT IS MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is an international organization that exists to encourage, equip, and help women become the best moms that they can be! Women who are pregnant or have young children (birth through kindergarten) are all invited to join MOPS.

MOPS provides an opportunity to meet other moms and make the journey of motherhood together. We share our experiences, learn from one another, and support each other. MOPS meetings are a wonderful place to build friendships and have fun with other moms. In other words, it's a playdate for moms!

At each of our meetings, moms enjoy a chance to socialize with other moms over brunch and a hot cup of coffee. We have a short time for announcements, followed by either a speaker or a creative activity, plus a small group discussion that allows you to get to know other moms more closely.

Childcare during all meetings is provided through the MOPPETS program. We provide a fun, nurturing environment for your kids to play and learn while you take a well-deserved break!

Purpose Statement:

MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.

POSITIONS STILL OPEN (No experience necessary, all that's needed is a positive attitude and a willingness to serve.):

Childcare volunteers - We are in need of childcare workers at each meeting to staff the childcare/MOPPET program that runs at the same time as the mothers program. If interested, please contact Elisa Thorson @ 815.844.5862 for applications.
Mentor mom(s) - A mom with children older than preschool who encourages the steering team and the MOPS moms. The MOPS Mentor attends Steering Team meetings as an adviser, contributing ideas, but is not a voting member. She is a mentor to the MOPS women by being a listening ear, as women need her godly advice.

If you're interested in serving on the steering team or just want more information about Pontiac MOPS, please contact Lindsey Ramsey at (815) 579-6711 or email
